ALTA VISTA PREMIUM MALBEC 2012
Alta Vista’s 516 acres of estate vineyards are situated in the terroirs of Mendoza and Salta at 3,200 feet above sea level. Mendoza is the largest and most important wine region in Argentina and over 70% of the country’s entire wine production is vinified here. Salta is located to the north and is known for its high altitudes where grapes not only ripen but also maintain their acidity due to the cool night and warm days.
This wine is 100% Malbec aged for 12 months in both French and American oak barrels, before an additional three months aging in bottle. The result is a wine with ripe, red fruit aromas and flavors of red fruit, cassis and spice along with round, soft tannins and a lively mouthfeel. This wine pairs well with grilled beef, lamb and veal with fresh herbs.
